I am a dedicated and passionate educator who gets excited every day, because I have the privilege of working to positively impact people, shape their trajectories and make a difference in their lives. I graduated with my bachelor’s cum laude from the University of North Carolina-Greensboro in a special program concentrating in Social Sciences and Liberal Studies and earned a Master’s in Education from The Johns Hopkins University. I have always been passionate about teaching, mentoring, tutoring and coaching students. Outside of education, I have served in a variety of campus and professional leadership roles. I’ve been a Teach for America Application Reviewer, UNC-Chapel Hill Residence Hall Governor, NC Jaycees Local Vice President, America Reads Tutor and AmeriCorps member, among other titles.
It has been my experience that people will truly learn and grow when they see that the educator entrusted to help facilitate their learning is someone they can trust, respect and model in every area of life. My teaching methodologies are centered around not just learning academic content, but also one is able to draw intelligent conclusions, think critically and holistically. My specialties are K-6 education but have experiences in literacy K-12. I enjoy helping others build a strong foundation, focusing on implementing SMART goals, core values and high expectations from day one.
I embarked on a journey with Teach for America in Miami, Florida and chose to spread my passion in the areas of teaching, mentoring, tutoring and coaching. When I'm not helping people learn and grow, I enjoy traveling, reading, cooking and spending time with friends and families. I look forward to working with you soon!
