Carmen M.
I have been tutoring or teaching since I was fifteen years old, so I discovered early on what makes me happy and gives me purpose. I focus on an individual’s learning style in order to adapt my delivery to it by creating or finding new ways to explain and demonstrate concepts. I have applied this focus and skill to teaching everything from Geometry to Excel, Ancient History to History of Animation and Special Effects.
I am an avid gamer, I and love anything Fantasy and Sci-Fi. I have often used this to build rapport with my students. I have used references from the genre to explains real life concepts and systems. It seems to work very well. I am proud of the fact that hundreds of my former students follow me on social media; it means that I had a positive effect in their lives that has lasted over a decade.
I love teaching children of all ages (and was a nanny to a nine-year-old and a seven-year-old), but I am best trained to work with children nine years old and older. I specialize in college-bound and college students.
